How do I add team members?
Invite new members by sharing yourTeam code. Anyone with the code can request to join, but an Admin or Owner must approve them first.
What are the different member roles?
Owner — Full control over the team, billing, and member management. Cannot be removed.
Admin — Can manage members, sheets, docs, and most settings. Can promote/demote members (excluding the owner).
Member — Can create and edit tasks, docs, and use chat. Cannot manage other members or team settings.
What does "Private" visibility mean on a sheet or doc?
A private sheet or doc is only visible to the person who created it. Other team members cannot see it, and any tasks or customer data linked to it stays private as well. Use this for personal tracking, lead sheets you don't want to share, or draft documents.
How do I track leads and customers?
Create a sheet with the "Leads" type. It comes pre-configured with columns for lead name, status, contact info, value, and source. When a lead's status is changed to "Won", a customer is automatically created in the Finances → Customers section.
How does the XP & streak system work?
You earn XP by completing tasks, creating docs, sending messages, and maintaining a daily login streak. Higher-priority tasks award more XP. Your level is based on total XP earned. Badges are unlocked for hitting milestones (e.g., completing 50 tasks, a 7-day streak). You can toggle the gamification system in Settings → Advanced.
Can I use Teamster on my phone?
Yes! Teamster is a Progressive Web App (PWA). On your phone's browser, tap "Add to Home Screen" (or "Install" on Chrome for Android) to install it as an app. It works offline for basic viewing and syncs when you're back online.
How do I customize spreadsheet columns?
Open a spreadsheet and click the column header to rename, reorder, or change column types. You can add custom columns like text, number, dropdown, date, slider, and checkbox. Each column can have its own settings including color-coded options.
How do I embed a spreadsheet or task in a doc?
In the doc editor, type / to open the insert menu. You can embed a live spreadsheet table, reference a specific task, or link to another sheet. Embedded content stays up-to-date with the original data.
How do recurring tasks/events work?
When creating or editing a task, toggle on "Recurring" and set the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly). The task will automatically regenerate after being completed. Calendar events can also repeat on a schedule.
How do I manage subscriptions and finances?
Go to the Finances tab to track income, expenses, subscriptions, and customers. Add subscriptions to get reminders before payment dates. Upcoming payments also appear on your calendar. The dashboard shows totals and trends across your financial data.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is stored in Firebase with security rules that restrict access to authenticated team members only. Chat messages are encrypted. Private sheets and docs are only accessible by their creator. Teamster does not share or sell your data.
How do I leave a team?
Go to theTeam tab and click the "Leave Team" button. You'll be asked to confirm before being removed. Note that team owners cannot leave — they must transfer ownership first or delete the team.
